Almost all creative people have a 'muse' of some kind.  Writers, musicians and artists all rely on a source of inspiration and, often, that source is somewhat unconventional.

People often ask what got me started on this crazy path of experimentation.  The truth is I was inspired by a petrified, prehistoric bear claw that was so massive, primeval and graphic; it was hard to imagine that it belonged to a creature from 50,000 years ago.  And so began my fossil fetish.

I had this image in the back of my psyche about that claw and the visceral feeling it gave me and, through that, the painting T-REX was born.  As a result of that piece, it has inspired four more commission pieces and the rest is dinosaur history.

Being able to touch a painting is important to me.  I like art pieces that reflect the many layers of nature and the environment around us, be it urban or rural.  It is these layers that mold our moods, thoughts and dreams.

If I can move someone to look at something in a different way, see things that were invisible before or stir memories and emotion, then I have achieved what I set out to do with my artwork.

I hope you go out into your world and twist things around a little to see a new perspective and I encourage you to find your personal muse.  Just remember: OMNIA MUTANTUR (everything changes).
